New technology is challenging to us all on a single level or another, even for those who are used to working with complicated machinery everyday.

You can’t possibly be an expert at everything, so you’re bound to run into things in life that are simply beyond your purview or know-how.

But a wise man asks for help from the appropriate parties when they need it the most. My father taught me this, and it resonated with me because he was always a strong and intelligent man. He rarely needed help with anything; but when he did, he showed me what tplot humility looks like. That’s a lesson that’s taxing to learn from others, but is so incredibly critical at the same time. And on top of that, he also told me that I need to be patient even if I don’t understand something completely at first. You can’t simply supply up every single time you run into a wall. Life is about constant adaptation. Occasionally adaptation involves embracing new technologies that improve our day to day lives. I wasn’t a little hesitant at first to replace our digital thermostat with a smart device, I now understand why I was urged to do this in the first place. Smart thermostats come with a plethora of multiple uses and features, but a single primary thing is running the air conditioning system or heating system on auto mode to save on electricity or fuel. The smart thermostat’s auto mode learns from your existing behavior and determines a temperature setting for each hour to maximize energy efficiency. I was legitimately amazed at how effective the smart thermostat was at lowering our energy bills with the auto mode features.
