Using a smart thermostat on auto mode can save you money in the long run
New technology is challenging to us all on one level or another, even for those who are used to working with complicated machinery everyday.
You can’t possibly be an expert at everything, so you’re bound to run into things in life that are simply beyond your purview or expertise.
But a wise person asks for help from the appropriate parties when they need it the most. My father taught me this, and it resonated with me because he was always a strong and intelligent man. He rarely needed help with anything; but when he did, he showed me what true humility looks like. That’s a lesson that’s hard to learn from others, but is so incredibly critical at the same time. And on top of that, he also told me that I need to be patient even if I don’t understand something completely at first. You can’t simply give up every single time you run into a wall. Life is about constant adaptation. Sometimes adaptation involves embracing new technologies that improve our day to day lives. I wasn’t a little hesitant at first to upgrade my digital thermostat with a smart device, I now understand why I was urged to do this in the first place. Smart thermostats come with a plethora of various uses and features, but one primary thing is running the a/c or furnace on auto mode to save on electricity or fuel. The smart thermostat’s auto mode learns from your existing behavior and determines a temperature setting for each hour to maximize energy efficiency. I was absolutely amazed at how effective the smart thermostat was at lowering my energy bills with the auto mode features.
