It’s funny that my parents offered to let me stay in an apartment rental during school from the start. They said they weren’t sure if I would like the dorm rooms. I supposed that my parents really didn’t want me getting involved with certain people or getting involved with smoking marijuana and drinking. Well, I wasn’t concerned about any of those things, they were never appealing to me. Even though I had many people offer me beer and marijuana cigarettes, I never accepted any of those things. I was mostly concerned about studying and getting good grades. My parents were paying for my schooling and I didn’t want that money to be wasted. Plus, I knew that I needed to focus on getting a solid career so that I could excel in my life. Well, after the first year, I made enough friends, but I finally decided I would rather live in my own apartment after all. I honestly was sick of all the partying all the time. It was like everybody just wanted to party and not focus on their schooling much at all, and I didn’t want to be a college dropout. So I spoke to my parents and they seemed relieved. My mother was saying how she knew that I would be bothered by all those troublesome kids trying to throw parties all the time. I guess that’s just the way things go in college for many people. Well, I was happy with my apartment when I first got it. My father just reminded me to make sure to change the air filters for the HVAC system regularly. He said if I didn’t change the air filters, the air quality would become bad and it would be difficult for me to focus on my studies.
