Workout area isn’t temperature controlled

I have a lanai built across the back of my house.

The floor is smooth cement, the ceiling plenty high and one entire wall is constructed of screens.

The space offers sufficient square footage for a home gym. I like the ability to keep my fitness gear separate from the living area. I appreciate that there’s no worry over causing damage to furnishings. I’ve gradually invested into a yoga mat, set of hand weights, jump rope, resistance bands, incline bench and a mini trampoline. I spend about an hour on my workouts. The only drawback of the lanai is that it is not temperature controlled. Because of the screens, it’s not possible to heat or cool the area. Fortunately, I live in a part of the country where the weather is mild for the majority of the year. I enjoy the fresh breeze and it keeps the lanai from smelling like sweat. In the middle of the summer, the heat and humidity are a problem. I make sure to get up extra early in the morning so that I can avoid the highest temperatures of the day. Although I run a box fan and stand directly in front of it, I am typically dripping sweat before I’ve even completed my warmup. It can be difficult to get motivated and exert myself. In the middle of the winter, the temperature can drop down into the forties. The conditions on the lanai are extremely chilly. I bundle up in layers of clothing, but it’s a challenge to get my muscles and joints sufficiently warm to avoid injury. I’m just thankful that I only deal with problematic weather for a short time.
