Can’t get husband to workout

My husband and I are only a few months apart in age.

We met in high school and graduated the same year. We got married very young and have made a wonderful life together. We have three children who are grown up and starting families of their own. While my husband and I get along really well, we couldn’t be more different. I like everything neat and tidy, and my husband is somewhat of a slob. I like to watch dramas and documentaries while he prefers comedies. I make my health and fitness a main priority in my life. I workout for about an hour everyday. I am conscientious about maintaining my same weight and focus on strength, stamina and flexibility. I love to ride my bike, play tennis, run and kayak. I’m also a vegetarian. Along with avoiding meat, I’ve eliminated junk food from my diet. I don’t smoke or drink coffee. I am determined to enjoy quality of life for as long as possible. I don’t want to slow down or suffer from avoidable medical problems. My husband lives on coffee and steak. He smokes, has put on quite a bit of weight over the years and refuses to workout. I can’t even convince him to stretch or go for a walk with me. It’s fortunate that his job forces him to be quite physically active. I worry about his health. I don’t understand why he won’t take care of himself. I am concerned that his quality of life will steadily diminish. I think he will one day regret not treating his body better.
