Most of the time, I actually appreciate the high rapidly increasing temperatures while in the summer.

But whenever I’m beach home from college, I work at the farm that’s on the other side of town and occasionally it gets way too hot! I appreciate the Summer and the beach and the pool and all of those things, however whenever you have to work outside and do manual labor, it’s a different story.

I suppose that toiling hard and doing physical labor is a superb thing to build character and keep you healthy. However, occasionally it’s hard to be outside for 8 hours a afternoon separate from a cut when you would care about to be resting in the air conditioner inside somewhere, and last year, we had record cutting rapidly increasing temperatures while in the Summer and let myself and others tell you, it was actually hard to be outside on those afternoons when the rapidly increasing temperatures were in the high 90s. Several times a afternoon, I would have to take a cut so I could go and cool off in the air conditioner inside of my truck. The only locale in the whole farm that’s air conditioned is the little front office area, and we aren’t allowed to congregate there because there is just not enough room for all of the farm hands. Needless to say, it was a actually long, boiling summer. They say that this year it’s not going to be quite as bad, and I am blissful. I’m also planning on getting one of those little portable cooling systems to wear around my neck while I’m toiling there this year!
