I had so much trouble with my HVAC unit in the hotel

If you have ever had to stay in a hotel that was in another country with another language, you honestly can relate to the tale that I am about to spin.

My story has to do with the ductless mini-split cooling system in a hotel room that both of us were using in a foreign country! Since the country had a very odd national language, and both of us hastily discovered that both of us could not read the control directions on the HVAC unit… Unfortunately, both of us were in a tropical area, & the room was starting to get overly warm.

All of us tried every button & everything that both of us could get the cooling system to work on this HVAC unit, but both of us could only turn on the furnace & also the fan. I remember trying for hours to turn the cooling system on before both of us went to be but to no avail. I even did research & tried to look up the word for air conditioning in that language, but I couldn’t find any matching characters from those words. Finally, right before both of us went to bed, I thought I had sussed out how to turn on the cooling system. Unfortunately, I woke up two hours later perspiring like crazy, realizing that I had only managed to turn the space heating function for the HVAC unit to the highest setting. It wasn’t until the next morning when both of us asked the front receptionist that both of us figured out how to use the cooling system. It was an entirely disappointing foreign experience. I was so ecstatic to return apartment to a central cooling system that I understood how to use.
