I used to be fearful of speaking in public and I would skip class when it came time for me to speak in front of class in my public speaking course in university.

I knew that I didn’t want that fear to control me so I took a course in standup comedy and conquered the overwhelming fear.

I am doing a set at a club next week, which runs their air conditioner machine way too much. I truly feel a tinge of nervousness about doing so. I haven’t been on stage in approximately a month or so however these nerves I feel will unquestionably help me perform better when I am on stage. I remember they have their smart thermostat always set to 63F so people stay awake during the shows. We honestly found out in comedy shows that it is certainly better for the crowd to have the room a bit colder than warmer. I am going to just tell certain stories about life overseas and potentially some family stories, along with some motivational speaking to leave them with something apart from laughs. I’m going to ask the owner if he could turn off the air conditioner machine while I perform because last time I was there the air conditioner machine made me sick for a long while after performing there. I like having the room somewhat frigid when I perform because I can get heated up on stage with the adrenaline and my physicality, however when it is a little too cold it kind of distracts me from my performance. It will be a relatively fun time in the end I’m sure. Do that which scares you for sure.
