I just want to get through the show without too much air conditioning

There was a time when I was so scared of speaking in public that I would make the move to skip class when it came time for me to speak in front of class in my public speaking course back in university.

I decided that I didn’t want that fear to control my life so I took a course in standup comedy and was able to get over the fear.

I am doing a set at a club very soon, which runs their air conditioning equipment far too much. I feel a tinge of nervousness about doing so. I haven’t been on stage in a long while however these nerves I guess will possibly help me perform better when getting on stage. I remember they have their smart thermostat consistently set to 64F so people easily remain awake while in the shows. We found out in comedy shows that it is more preferable for the crowd to have the room a bit colder than warmer. I am going to just tell some crazy stories about life overseas and I might toss some family stories in there, along with a little bit of motivational speaking so it’s not all about laughing. I’m going to ask the owner if he could turn off the air conditioning equipment while I perform because last time I was there the air conditioning equipment actually made me sick for a week after performing at that place. I appreciate having the room particularly chilly when I perform because I can get heated up on stage with the adrenaline and my physicality, however when it is too frosty it kind of distracts me from my performance. It will be a wonderful time in the end I’m certain. Do that which easily scares you.
