Living without HVAC no more
Living without HVAC no more
For some reason, me not having residential HVAC sure was a much bigger concern for everyone else but me.
- So I didn’t have heating and cooling equipment like most everyone else.
However, I did just fine. The fact is that where I have lived all my life, there is one thing that dominates the heating and cooling conversation. And that thing is the heating. Our region is so far north that if I was much further north, I’d be in Canada. Yet, I’ve always been quite warm and comfortable as the heating of my home has been a top priority. I spend much of the summer and fall preparing for heating my house through winter. Until recently, I’ve heated my home with a wood stove exclusively. Quite frankly, that’s the way I have preferred it as well. And as far as air conditioning goes, I’ve just never really used it. There was once when I had a girlfriend who wanted HVAC cooling so I bought a window air conditioner. But that lasted as long as that girlfriend which wasn’t long. Outside of a fan, I really haven’t needed much air conditioning. Now that I’m getting up in years, my kids have become mighty concerned with my heating and cooling situation. To that end, they insisted that I let them pay to have the HVAC company install a ductless multi split system in my home. I’ll still be using the wood stove as I get my wood delivered to me now. But I have to say that having some residential HVAC sure will be a lot more convenient for me and add some flexibility to my heating situation.
