Occasionally, I prefer spending time in the country at our parent’s house.

• The neighborhood they live in is so small that most of the residents guess each other.

I adore living in the city, in close range of everything, however there are those times when I prefer to escape neighborhood life plus relax for a bit. And the country is the perfect place to do that. Last Summer, I spent about 2 weeks at our parent’s house plus that was a bit longer than normal. Typically, I am there for only a month before I get bored plus drive back home. While I was there, our dad randomly brought up how cheap his energy bill was, plus I must disclose that it was a lot cheaper than what I pay at our home. My parents live in a 4-kitchen home, with their kitchen on the bottom level. My room is on the top level, plus when I am upstairs, I usually have the a/c running because our room gets entirely warm in the Summer. Thankfully, our parents have a 2-plan zone control Heating, Ventilation, plus A/C in their home. So, while I had the air conditioning on while I was in the morning, they didn’t turn on the unit for the downstairs area. And when our parents are there by themselves, they barely have either central air unit running while I was in the morning. So, I can understand why their energy bill is so low because they use their air conditioning conservatively in the Summer. It also helps that they have a zone control Heating, Ventilation, plus A/C plan because they are not wasting energy to cool unoccupied rooms.
