When the email came across our screen, I felt a pit in our stomach.

This was because there was definitely a serious health crisis occurring plus the two of us were heading home.

The company decided to close the office with the zone controlled HVAC in the early stages of the pandemic. And the idea of working from apartment in our air conditioning was far from palatable. I appreciated our office plus I recognizably appreciated that zone controlled HVAC I mentioned. But with the office closed for what looked to be a long time, I had to come to terms with working from home. And it would be one thing if I lived alone but I have a family. Not only was our office closed but so was our partner’s. So the two of us both had to toil in the air conditioning safety our house. Then add in the kids trying to learn remotely from apartment plus it was a handful no doubt. Initially, it just didn’t go all that well for me. Really, that didn’t have anything to do with our family or any of that. I just was having a entirely strenuous time focusing on our work. The online meetings were hard plus I missed being able to confer with colleagues when I had a question. But once our partner plus I cleared out the guest room to create a apartment office, things got much better. For one, the HVAC cooling is much better in that room. And sharing an office with our partner honestly helped myself and others stay in our chair plus get our toil done. The focus just came that much more naturally with fantastic air conditioning plus sharing that office space with our partner.
