The demand for skilled HVAC techs in the pot industry

When smoke is your business, then ventilation is of key importance.

I am still pretty new to the marijuna industry, but so far I am loving my new line of work! Before I worked for a local general contractor, but I never enjoyed the work.

I managed to get my foot in the door with a large (and still growing) chain of cannabis dispensaries in the northern part of the state. I didn’t apply online. I went right to the head office and gave them my resume. I knew that all of their new dispensaries would need a custom HVAC system to handle the smoke, and I knew I was the right person for the job. I put together a full pitch, explaining what the expense would be to hire a full HVAC crew in every town they wanted a new dispensary. What they needed was one coordinating HVAC tech to work from a master set of plans, and to work with local crews at the individual dispensaries. This way the company would have uniform, dependable HVAC systems in each of their spots, and have them maintained by one centralized corporate crew. Over the course of a few years, the company could save tens of thousands of dollars – if not more – on their HVAC installation and upkeep. Since ventilation is a key part of this kind of business, the corporate owners were very keen about my ideas. I am still waiting to hear back from them, but if they go for it then my HVAC career is about to hit a whole new level.
