For the past two weeks, we’d been tolerating the uncomfortable hot air in the office. It is summer and the working conditions were not conducive. The management had been trying to get the air conditioning service to no avail. The issue was the central air conditioning. It had malfunctioned and left the entire office in a bad condition. After a week they finally got a hold of one of the local cooling techs who scheduled work on the unit. The cooling workman came the next day in the morning. The unit is located in the basement so our work was not interrupted. We were all sweaty all through the day even though the windows stayed open. The air conditioning expert explained what the issue was. The issue was born from a spoilt pilot light and burned heat exchanger. They also pointed out that we had not replaced the filters from when the air conditioning install, which had happened about two years back. Our maintenance department had also not kept up with the required annual air conditioning tune-up. If they had adhered to their conditioning repair, we would have avoided the damage on the heat exchanger as well as the issue from the dirty air filter which eventually affected the HVAC unit. The experts from the air conditioning business outlined the measures we needed to take to maintain the quality air conditioner all through its lifespan. In addition, they also installed an indoor air cleaning system after they were done repairing the cooling product. The job took the entire day and when we left for the day, the office was still as hot as the temperature outside. The next day, however, we were welcomed by fresh, cool air when we came into the office.
