Boyfriend quits couple’s fitness class

Boyfriend quits couple’s fitness class

My boyfriend and I worked lots of overtime and saved every extra dollar in order to afford an extensive hiking trip.

Our plan involved some really challenging hikes as well as all sorts of excursions.

We were looking forward to kayaking, zip-lining, cycling and some rather demanding rock-climbs. To get the most out of our trip, I knew we needed to be in peak physical condition. I signed us up for an advanced level couple’s fitness class at the local gym. Since the class was certain to be high intensity, I wanted to elevate my level of fitness before starting. I suggested to my boyfriend that we go on some runs and bike rides. He wasn’t interested, so I went by myself. He refused my invitation to do some yoga together and swim laps. As I expected, our first couple’s fitness class was brutal. By the end of the hour, I was drenched in sweat and sore. My boyfriend was unable to complete the full class. He sat down midway through and never stood back up. The following morning, we both struggled to make it up and down the stairs. My whole body ached. I was determined to do better at the next class. I kept up my stretching and exercise program to prepare. My boyfriend went right back to sitting around watching television and working on his computer. He did one more class with me before quitting altogether. I had to partner with the instructor, but I stuck with it for eight weeks. When we headed off on our vacation, I was in the best shape of my life. I enjoyed all of the hikes and excursions while my boyfriend waited back at the hotel. By the end of our trip, we were no longer speaking to one another.
