There is no doubt that I have loved growing up and living my adult life up north until recently. I’m a fan of just about everything in this area and that even includes the winter to some degree. The older I’m getting, the less I like getting out of the HVAC heating on subfreezing morning to shovel snow. Still, it’s great to have a white Christmas and I enjoy all the winter sports. However, my company offered me a proposition that I just couldn’t refuse. The job I’ve wanted for such a long time finally became available. However, it wasn’t in the office up north. The position was in a sister office down south so I would have to relocate. This was tough in some ways and very easy in others. The idea of not having to pay the exorbitant heating bills to run the gas furnace was a big positive. Moving to a place where I could actually play golf, tennis and go hiking year round was another big plus. However, I would miss my family and friends for sure. Plus, my girlfriend on several years point blank told me she wasn’t going with me. Still, I chose to go for the job I’ve always wanted and for the new digs. It’s been just over a year and I have to say that I made the right choice. The summer was tough but the heat pump and all that HVAC cooling helped me manage. However, the other eight months of the year are pure bliss and I have nearly no heating bills at all it’s that mild of a winter.
