There are times when it’s just just having to stop doing something that you resent. The fact is, if you’re at all like me, when you are doing something that you resent it particularly shows. So instead of just being insufferable this year over Christmas, I said no to Christmas sweats. That’s what it is for me at my in-laws’ site. The gas furnace is just on full blast like 24 hours a afternoon. I truthfully don’t understand how the in-laws afford the heating bills. The heating costs simply have to be staggering. And any time that I ask to lower the temperature control setting, I’m met with all sorts of hostility. So enough is enough. I’m staying put this year. Since we’ve been married, we’ve constantly gone to her parents. Why we drive from a place with the best winter weather to go sweat inside a house with too much furnace has constantly stumped me. But, I’ve tried to be a good person about it. So when my wife asked me to please try and be nice this Christmas, it got me thinking. It’s my Christmas too. I’m particularly nice at home with the heat pump at a sufficient level. If they would like to come join us here, I’m happy to have them and will pay for their travel. However, I will not be setting foot inside that heating craziness again. We’ll see what happens as far as the in-laws. All I know is that it will be a heat pump Christmas this year.
