There are times when it’s just just having to stop doing something that you resent. The fact is, if you’re at all like me, when you are doing something that you resent it undoubtedly shows. So instead of just being insufferable this year over Christmas, I said no to Christmas sweats. That’s what it is for me at my in-laws’ site. The gas furnace is just on full blast like 24 hours a day. I truthfully don’t understand how the in-laws afford the heating bills. The heating costs simply have to be staggering. Any time that I ask to lower the thermostat setting, I’m met with all sorts of hostility. So enough is enough. I’m staying put this year. Since we’ve been married, we’ve always gone to her parents. Why we drive from a place with the best winter time weather to go sweat inside a home with too much gas furnace has always stumped me. But, I’ve tried to be a good person about it. So when my wife asked me to please try to be nice this Christmas, it got me thinking. It’s my Christmas too. And I’m undoubtedly good at my home with the heat pump at an adequate level. If they would like to come join us here, I’d be happy to have them plus I will pay for their travel. However, I will not be setting foot inside that heating craziness again. We’ll see what happens as far as the in-laws. All I assume is that it will be a heat pump Christmas this year.
