A geothermal heat pump on the farm

My Grandpa raised me, & taught me to be prepared for anything.

This was a while ago, he has been gone for twenty years or so, & he was an old guy when I was a young man.

He grew up in the Great Depression, where every morning was a confrontation for survival on the farm. That mindset stuck with him, & he passed it along to me. I still can & jar our extra fruits & veggies from the garden, just in case, & I have a geothermal heat pump to give energy for me in times of crisis. Because of the name, many people suppose that this is a heating pump, but this is not the case. A heating pump is part of your central Heating & Air Conditioning equipment, & helps the gas furnace distribute heat through your home. A geothermal heat pump is an energy generating system, much like solar panels or windmills, that converts a limitless natural resource into power for your home. In this case, it is the geothermal energy of the earth itself, which is syphoned off by the heat pump & stored in power cells. I am still connected to the main power grid, but since I use the geothermal heat pump to power our home, the yearly bill is about many dollars. I have enough power cells in reserve that I could go for weeks with full power, a/c, & hot water. Buying a geothermal heat pump is not a small investment of money, but it does spend money big dividends in the long run.
