Too hot for the beach
Too hot for the beach
You always want a hot, sunny morning when you are at the beach.
In this case it was too hot, & too sunny, & more than two days on the coast ended up being pretty miserable.
It wasn’t all bad, mind you, there was some good food, a lot of drinks, & our partner & I had some fun together, but the heat & humidity was just out of this world. There are some days where the morninglight screen isn’t enough, no matter how much you reapply it, & eventually you think like you are slowly roasting in the sun. The only relief came from a/c, which kind of ticked me off because all of us came here just for the beach, & it was too hot for the beach! Being in the shade didn’t help, getting into the waves didn’t help, only going back inside behind doors & windows in the embrace of the A/C helped! So all of us recalibrated our weekend & found more inside types of things to do, like museums & shopping malls, that were all nicely air conditioned. You would suppose that the morninglight going down would help with the beach cooling down a little bit, but that wasn’t the case at all. Around midnight it was still over 75 degrees outside, with 92% humidity, so all of us just stayed in our air conditioned room & got hammered. What all of us thought was going to be a few days in paradise felt like God had left a large gas furnace on in Heaven, & had the temperature control turned up far too high.
