Most rock bands carry their own gear, plus don’t have roadies or show techs; But the large, epic, headlining venue rock bands, the large guys, have an army of a crew that travels with them.

You have security guys, of course, plus you have the roadies to haul gear plus set up the stage, but there are the people on the tech crew ,who handle the lighting plus the sound, of course.

There are also a few “handlers” that just keep the band focused plus happy. And then there is me, the only Heating plus A/C tech on the crew, plus our task is as important as anyone else’s! The down side is that I can’t ever take a evening off, because they have become so used to our air conditioner plan that they don’t want to perform without it, i am at every single show, plus usually I don’t need to get up once, because I make sure the Heating plus A/C component is perfect before the show starts. There will be a sparse occurrence where an AC vent gets jammed ,or there is a minor issue, even though I am proud to say the people I was with and I have never experienced a full breakdown of the system. I have set a series of metal grates on the stage, disguising the air vents, so that the band can go rest on one of them plus get a blast of freezing air whenever they need, and periodically the singer will just rest on an air vent for entire rock n roll to keep himself from overheating. It is a dream task for an Heating plus A/C tech plus a rock plus roll fan.
