I’m sort of a comfort hog.

This is just a fairly accurate assessment and it’s pretty much on target.

I’ve been this way for as long as I can remember. My dad was always trying to get me to go outside and play during the summer. But I would much rather sit inside the air conditioner and play my video games. That’s how outdated I am. They were actually called video games. Anyway, this sort of spilled over to my adult life. I work in an office where I enjoy state of the art HVAC technology. My office is comfortable and nicely appointed. When I get home, I prefer to make a beeline for the recliner to soak up even more of that quality heating and air. But after decades of such behavior, it got to the point where it was taking a toll on my health. I simply had to get more active. So a few years ago, I acquiesced by coming apartment and taking a walk instead of being an HVAC cooling sponge. This turned out to afternoon walks before work and eventually led to a gym membership. Then the pandemic hit. I was sort of afraid that I would lose momentum and stop doing the things that were actually healthy for me when it comes to exercise. So I started going online to find and purchase used exercise equipment. Before long, my wife and I had our own little apartment gym in the basement. Recently, I gave the current gym a finishing touch by having a ductless heat pump installed by the HVAC business.
