We recently inherited a large twelve bedroom, fourteen bathroom home, that we are going to remodel I wanted to have all of the coziness of a bed and breakfast while adding in the ability to secure the entire building for private gatherings like weddings or business retreats.

I had all kinds of plans when I found out my uncle had left me the large home. He hadn’t lived in it for a decade, so I knew it needed a lot of work, but it had so much potential. My husband and I went and inspected the old home and we were both marveling over how large it was. When we heard twelve bedrooms and fourteen baths, we were in awe. No one said it had two kitchens, a formal dining room, two living areas, a library, and a ballroom. It was so huge that I was afraid I was going to get lost. My husband and I were going to live in the maid’s quarters until the main house was finished. We wanted to do a lot of updates along with adding a new heating and air conditioning system to the house. We planned on installing hydronic heating into the house. There was to be radiant heating in the bathrooms and hot water baseboard heating in all other rooms. We considered radiant heated flooring for the bedrooms, but along with the hot water baseboard heating and private fireplaces that just needed to be cleaned and the chimneys lined, we knew we had all the heat we needed. We put in mini splits for the air conditioning and we knew we would soon be open for business.
