But a recent HVAC situation completely reset what was really sort of a stupid mindset really.

Somehow, I sort of bought in to all the frustration and doubt when it came to experts. They were wrong more than I liked to see and there was just something about self sufficiency and freedom I wanted to embrace. While I understand my motivations, they were misguided at best and I paid the price when it came to my HVAC unit. Having this idea that I didn’t need experts or professionals to provide for me, I decided to take more things into my own hands. So when I came home from work to discover the air conditioning not working properly, I took it upon myself to correct the situation. That was stupid. And I simply should have picked up the phone and called the HVAC company right away. Instead, I chose to go online to diagnose and then fix the HVAC problem myself. Again, an epic and stupid mistake. But in my mind, it was like who needs an HVAC professional when I have a video? You can tell where this is going. Of course, I completely messed up the heating and cooling equipment in the process of showing how smart I was to myself. Once I noted that I ruptured something, I had to admit defeat and get the HVAC professionals out to my house. The HVAC company fixed my heat pump but it cost me a bunch of money when it simply didn’t have to. This HVAC experience was a real wake up call for me. HVAC professionals, as do all professionals and experts, deserve our respect.
