I can’t understand why my wife always wants to rush out and buy something new instead of giving me a chance to repair it.

I know that I have a tendency to procrastinate, but I am a smart man and I have the knowledge to do the repairs.

Okay, so it is almost winter and I have been playing with the boiler system for a couple of months. All I need to do is locate all of the parts and put it back together, but I haven’t had time. She keeps harping on needing the heating in the near future, but I think I have at least a month. I do remember telling her that a couple of times, but I really have been busy. She tells me that I seem to be busier now than before I retired, but I get worn out more quickly. Working on the heating system has not been a priority to me and I now plan on making it a priority. I don’t think the boiler needs much more than the repairs, even though I have noticed a few more leaks over the last couple weeks. I just don’t want to admit that I have no idea if I can fix the boiler and get the heating that we need before winter. I considered talking to my son who is a HVAC technician and seeing if I can get his help. I know he will help me if I ask, but I want to be able to do the work on my own. I hate having to depend on someone else to do my work. I know that I need a working heating system soon, which means I need to get the boiler working or replace it.
