The waves and the water hid the sun very well

I took the kids to the beach a couple of weeks ago and I got a terrible sunburn.

I was in bed for hours because the pain was significant.

I was very thankful that my kids did not get burnt. I applied a generous sunscreen to each of them more than once. It was a little cloudy and the water felt great, so I wasn’t very concerned about the sun. By the time I got home that day, I had tiny blisters on the backs of my legs. After I took the kids to my wife’s house, I went home and laid down on the bed. I couldn’t find a comfortable position. I was extremely hot and uncomfortable. I decided to go into the living room to lay on the couch. The couch is located right under an air conditioner vent and laid on the couch so the backs of my legs were directly under the air conditioner vent. I found a small amount of comfort in that position, but my neck began to hurt after an hour. I haven’t had a bad sunburn in 10 or 20 years. I was miserable for several days and I even missed work on Monday. The blisters from the sunburn were starting to pop by then and I didn’t want to wear pants. The backs of my legs were as red as a steamed lobster. The kids wanted to go to the beach last weekend when they came to visit, but I immediately shot down that idea. I love the beach, the sand, and the waves, but I’m still recovering from the last time we went to the water.
