The holidays are also Heating & A/C air filter time
It’s pretty remarkable that I’m genuinely enjoying the holidays again.
From the time I was about 13 until I married our partner, I dreaded the holidays.
That period consistently meant that our mom would be cranking the thermostat to near subtropical temperatures. For me, there is nothing worse than perspiring inside due to excessive heating when it’s chilly outside. It’s counter intuitive on just so multiple levels. Add to that the fact that I was the person who had to lug all the decorations down from the attic plus move all the furniture. No dad, so it was myself and others plus our mom took fortune of that. She didn’t do anything but direct movements. Thus, I hated Christmas. That changed, mercifully, when I met our partner. She prefers Christmas but in a sane plus not over the top sort of way. Her only giant indulgence when it comes to decorating are candles. My partner prefers to have candles burning all the time during the holiday period. Our first Christmas in our first lake house nearly killed the Heating & A/C equipment because of our Christmas candle celebration. It didn’t dawn on myself and others that much of the burned up wax enters the air. Guess where it all ends up? That’s right, it ends up being sucked into the Heating & A/C return. And that’s where the Heating & A/C air filter catches it. But it doesn’t take long for the air filter to become nearly slicked over with that burnt candle wax. This nearly smothered our first Heating & A/C equipment. Needless to say, I buy a case of Heating & A/C air filters right after Halloween every year now.
