Who needs an HVAC professional anyway?

Who needs an HVAC professional anyway?

I actually looked into that and she was right, a lot of systems didn’t cover non-professional installations.

When I told my family that I was thinking about installing my own HVAC system, they kind of freaked out a little bit. They asked me if I had been taking HVAC classes so that I would be qualified to do a job like that. I told them no. They also asked if I had any idea what I was doing and I said I watched some installation videos. My father was saying it sounded like a terrible mistake not to go with a professional installation. He said there were so many things that could go wrong, including getting myself electrocuted. Well, I was admittedly a little nervous about the electric part, but as long as you were careful and knew where the hot wires were and not to touch them, I would be alright. My sister even mentioned that she thought my warranty would be void if I tried to install an HVAC on my own. I actually looked into that and she was right, a lot of systems didn’t cover non-professional installations. The thing about the make I was going for is that they actually did. The warranty was basically half the amount of years if you were a non-professional and it wouldn’t cover any damages that resulted from improper installation. So basically I would have a 5 years limited warranty for parts and labor and if I went with a professional, I would get 10 years limited warranty. It didn’t sound like such a big deal, especially since I learned how these systems could last a good 20 years with minimum maintenance, so I went for it and everything turned out great!
