The tree missed the A/C equipment however it hit the car hard
Last Monday, the region got hit with the first hurricane of the season.
We had a lot of rain and wind, and most of the trees were not prepared for the storm.
We lost a lot of branches during the wind gusts. Several of the branches fell on the lawn. One of the branches from the oak tree next to the home fell on the car. It missed the A/C equipment by a couple of feet. When I saw the damage to the car, I immediately wished it had hit the A/C equipment instead. When I realized that the car insurance would cover the damages, I was thankful that the tree did not hit the A/C unit. Our homeowners insurance doesn’t cover repairs to the A/C method or the oil furnace, even if the concern occurs during a natural disaster like a tornado, hurricane, or tropical storm. A couple of years ago, my partner and I we’re living in a unusual area of the country. A tree fell on our roof and damaged the oil furnace! Even though the roof was covered by the homeowners insurance, the oil furnace was not. The oil furnace is not considered area of the home, even though it is a necessary area of the home. The tree caused $3,000 worth of damages to the car, and I had to have a brand current hood, roof, and windshield installed. It would have been a lot easier to replace the oil furnace, however it would have been a lot more money for my partner and I. I hope that is the last storm the two of us see this season.
