For the past couple of afternoons, both of us have been having a bad smell in our home whenever the heating system kicks on, i wondered if there was a skunk or another kind of animal stuck in the air ducts or something however it honestly didn’t smell like that.

• I asked around and I finally found that it was genuinely something like a broken trap in a sewer pipe! Apparently, periodically when they are building a house, a general contractor or Heating, Ventilation and A/C contractor puts the vent pipe alongside the air duct and then if something breaks then you are in a world of trouble with the gross smells! That’s apparently what has happened to us, then at least, that’s what the Heating, Ventilation and A/C professional that I chatted with online told me.

I don’t think if he’s on the up and up, however it seemed like she knew what she was talking about; Of course, even if she didn’t think a thing about gas heating systems or a/c units, I would have no system because I don’t think anything about them either! All I think is that whenever both of us turn the heating system or the cooling system on, then there’s a disgusting smell that permeates the house. I can’t deal with it anymore. I guess I’m going to have to call an Heating, Ventilation and A/C contractor or a plumbing contractor. Or maybe I need to just be on the safe side and just do both! I have to get rid of this smell and if it does have something to do with the pipes or the drains, I have to get it fixed right away.
