The fireplace is for reading

I only ever read novels in the winter.

I seriously have tried studying year round.

After all, I prefer books plus really do enjoy a nice novel. But I just can’t do it. I don’t believe it is because it is tough to rest like that when it is nice outside or if it is the fireplace that makes me only want to lay around and read in the winter. I think it is the fireplace though. There is something certainly nice about casually sitting in front of a fireplace plus studying a nice book for minutes on end while the beautiful snow falls outside plus the wood crackles in the hearth. That is an experience that just can’t ever be replicated. Trust me; I have tried. One Summer I bought a little fake fireplace from a local discount store. It had a fake flame, fake wood, plus a real section heating system attached. I quickly bought it because I thought that I could turn off the heating system area of it plus still as if the wonderful fake flames. I was hoping that this would inspire me to read in the Summer months. It didn’t. In fact, the stupid fake fireplace just made me mad. The flames moved in a repetitive pattern, it didn’t make that beautiful crackling sound that I prefer so much, plus it had no smokey stink. I ended up giving the thing away. I really started hoarding books in anticipation of studying them in front of my real fireplace in the winter. Others get sad when the weather turns cold around here. Not me. I get excited.
