Hotel has no thermostat

I recently stayed in a hotel located in the theater district in the heart of the city.

I paid extra to have nice accommodations in close proximity to the various attractions.

I wanted to avoid dealing with the subway and simply walk to the locales. I expected a unquestionably costly hotel. When the elevator had a odd smell and made a superb deal of noise, I knew I was in trouble. While the lobby was particularly gorgeous, the rooms had entirely not been substituted in a unquestionably long time. The wallpaper was drab and faded, and the rug was worn and stained. The room was also rather dirty. There were various black hairs in the bathtub, a wrapper on the floor, smudges on the windows and stains on the curtains, my greatest problem was the air conditioning. While I could complain about the lack of cleanliness, there was nothing to be done about the absence of a thermostat. There was no way of decreasing the temperature or the amount of cold air pouring from the vents. When I first arrived, the air conditioning was blasting cold air at what seemed enjoy maximum capacity. I realized that the window was ajar and hoped this was the cause. I hastily shut the window and waited for the air conditioning to shut off. It kept right on running. Although the outside temperature was warm and pleasant, the indoor temperature was way too cold. I finally localed pillows over the vents to restrict airflow. I was forced to sleep with my sweatshirt on.
