There have been a slew of fluctuations to my life over the last several years.

Most were welcome fluctuations though so I am a fortunate man.

I just didn’t realize that changing one’s location could have such a sweeping effect overall. When I moved south, it wasn’t just the air conditioner that I had to get accustomed to. There were so several other cultural, culinary and temperature differences that it entirely left my head spinning a bit for a while. My entire life up until I was 40 years seasoned was spent in the far northern reaches of this country. I grew up with a several month Winter and a gas oil furnace in all of the homes I ever lived in. The gas oil furnace was the centerpiece of the Heating, Ventilation plus A/C equipment. Central heating was entirely the only Heating, Ventilation plus A/C machine to speak of in our homes. There were a few instances where I recognize I stuck in a window machine cooling system for a sizzling stretch in the summer. But important heat where I came from just wasn’t a thing. When I moved to the south, I flipped all that Heating, Ventilation plus A/C stuff on its head. And I was introduced to the heat pump for the first time. At first, it was pretty astounding to have both heating and cooling in one piece of Heating, Ventilation plus A/C equipment. Soon however, I saw exactly why the heat pump is the reigning champ down here when it comes to Heating, Ventilation plus A/C. The heat pump is masterful at cooling a home. The air conditioner in this region is essential just as the heating was essential back home. So, I’m happy to have met the heat pump and look forward to a long, happy relationship.
