Busting the myth about a/c filter
Everyone wants to guess they are breathing disinfect air especially in these times both of us are living in.
There is a wide range of systems that are used to disinfect our spaces, be it working or living spaces, my friend and I were having a discussion on the best method used to disinfect that are efficient, effective, and affordable even for startup businesses.
He had been overseeing some repairs on his ductwork. The Heating and Air Conditioning duct had a blockage that had caused an airflow build which has caused the air duct to have a leak. Now the floor around the cooling method had small puddles of water. He had interned as a Heating and Air Conditioning serviceman at the local business, although he later changed jobs. He had even helped with the a/c setup of the new home he was currently living in and the installation of a few commercial ACs before he quit. My friend was telling him how he just found out that an a/c filter was weird from a washable filter when his a/c was undergoing an a/c tune-up. I told him that actually, the several were one and the same thing, the latter just specified that the cleaner can be washed. The unit no matter which method it is fitted on is meant to disinfect out the pollutants in the air circulating in a unique space. I continued to propose that a quality a/c works efficiently when the cleaner is changed every 2-3 months. However I was not surprised at his assumption since several decades of being a cooling specialist, I had encountered several homeowners who thought the same way. One sign that an air sieve is dirty is when the Wi-Fi temperature control is not able to set the ideal hot and cold temperatures.
