Portable air conditioner is surprisingly helpful

A couple of years ago, my oldest son gave me a portable air conditioner for my birthday.

I doubted I would ever use it.

I live in the northeastern part of the country, where the winters are especially long, cold and snowy. By the time the warmer weather arrives, I always looked forward to opening windows and enjoying some fresh air. I had never had a problem managing comfort with box fans. It took my son less than fifteen minutes to install the portable air conditioner. The unit is super lightweight, compact and slipped right into the window. He plugged it in and started it up. I was amazed by the quiet operation and how quickly the air conditioner cooled the master bedroom down. The cooling unit offers programmable operation and I can make adjustments through a cordless remote. I don’t need to get out of bed to raise or lower temperature settings, adjust fan speed or regulate humidity levels. The air conditioner effectively circulates the air, making the room feel fresher and even smell better. It also filters out contaminants such as dust, dander and pollen for superior indoor air quality. Since getting the portable air conditioner as a gift, I sleep better during the summer months and wake up feeling more refreshed. Every year, I tend to install the air conditioner earlier and leave it in place longer. I’m now considering purchasing a couple more portable air conditioners for other rooms in the house. Since I only need to start up the cooling units when the rooms are occupied, it won’t cost much in energy bills. If I watch for sales, I should be able to buy a good quality unit for a decent price.
