A good ride with quality cooling

In our section of the country, all of us call riding a real man’s motorcycle “riding hog.” I am not insulting people who ride dirt bikes, or those Asian built crotch rockets built for speed, even though I assume real men ride Harleys, or custom built choppers, however well, I used to assume that however after 40 years of riding hog I legitimately had to step down as President of our MC (that means motorcycle club, by the way) and stop riding altogether.

My lungs were shot from years of huffing exhaust and chain smoking cigars. I needed to have an air filtration method in locale at all times to help our breathing, which meant no more riding on the open road on a chopper. After a few weeks of sulking at home I realized I couldn’t just stay indoors forever, and if I couldn’t ride I could still drive, in a van with an AC method and air filters. I could even ride with the club, and the van could carry the supplies all of us needed and supply myself and others a reason to tag along. It is a honestly odd experience, driving cross country with weather conditions control instead of having the wind in our face, and just as difficult as giving up the hog has been giving up the smoking, because enhanced air quality is the order of the afternoon, every afternoon, for the rest of our mornings. Even when I am at home I will regularly keep an air filter running nearby at all times, and at night I turn on a humidifier before I go to bed
