Riding in style

In our section of the country, every one of us call riding a real man’s motorcycle “riding hog.” I am not insulting people who ride dirt bikes, or those Asian built crotch rockets built for speed, but I think real gentlemen ride Harleys, or custom built choppers! Well, I used to think that however after 40 years of riding hog I really had to step down as President of our MC (that means motorcycle club, by the way) in addition to stop riding altogether.

My lungs were shot from years of huffing exhaust in addition to chain smoking cigars.

I needed to have an air filtration system in place at all times to help our breathing, which meant no more riding on the open road on a chopper. After a few weeks of sulking at house I realized I couldn’t just stay indoors forever, in addition to if I couldn’t ride I could still drive, in a van with an AC system in addition to air filters. I could even ride with the club, in addition to the van could carry the supplies every one of us needed in addition to give myself and others a reason to tag along. It is a legitimately weird experience, driving cross country with climate control instead of having the wind in our face, and just as difficult as giving up the hog has been giving up the smoking, because enhanced air quality is the order of the afternoon, every afternoon, for the rest of our afternoons. Even when I am at house I will always keep an air filter running nearby at all times, in addition to at evening I turn on a humidifier before I go to bed
