When our brother went into the service, I didn’t realize it was going to be 2 years before I would see him again.

He went right from boot camp to overseas, where he spent the next 2 years.

In that time, I had graduated from middle school plus gone to a technical school for Heating, Ventilation plus A/C certification classes. I already had our Heating, Ventilation plus A/C certification plus had a year of on-the-job training by the time our brother got home. I enjoyed the job I was doing plus the people I was laboring with. I thought I had the perfect job. I knew I was able to do the job that most people else was doing, however then our brother came home. He was the same giant brother he always was. He never thought I would amount to much plus that I should just grow up plus become a housepartner with a husband who could take care of me. You can’t imagine how shocked he was when he realized I had gone to Heating, Ventilation plus A/C school plus was now laboring in the local Heating, Ventilation plus A/C dealer. He thought I should be embarrassed to be laboring with these men. I was talking money out of their pockets plus food off their tables. He thought they were only putting up with our laboring there because I was a man plus section of an affirmative action group of men. There wasn’t anything I could do to convince him that I was there because I was enjoyable at our job. When he realized I was laboring with some old pals of his, he chose to talk to them. My coworker told him that he was proud to toil with me.
