I always let the filter dry completely before putting it back into the machine

My family and I were spending a fortune on air filter replacements. We were changing the air filter on our HVAC unit every week due to the fact that we have multiple pets and our home. My family and I were using an air filter that was made for homes with multiple pets. We have three cats and three dogs and they constantly leave dirt and hair all over the furniture, flooring, and carpet. The pet dander and hair get trapped in the ductwork and the HVAC unit. Each week we were spending $15 on one air filter and the fees were starting to add up quickly. My wife and I researched air filtration products and air filters and we found out that we could buy a washable air filter for our HVAC unit. The washable air filter was a significant one-time expense, but now my wife and I no longer have to worry about buying replacement air filters every week. The manufacturer recommends washing the air filter with a mild dish detergent and warm water. I use regular dawn because I like the way that it removes greasy buildup. I usually soak the air filter for ten or fifteen minutes in a warm soap bath and then I scrub the mesh with a soft bristle brush. I always let the filter dry completely before putting it back into the machine. Ever since we started using the washable air filter, our indoor air seems absolutely cleaner and fresher. It was a great idea to start using something that is easily recyclable.
