Seal up that property – new insulation is important

On top of that, there was no buffer between the bitterly nippy basement & the first floor

I never actually knew much about property ownership before I found myself in possession of this property. Honestly, I did not ask for any of this responsibility, but my old family property was left to me when my Grandpa passed away. Now, it is my task to make sure that everything is in excellent shape around the property whether I actually know what I’m doing or not. I’m regularly trying to renovate the property so it would be livable for one of my family members or sellable for a profit. Regrettably, the property is lacking new amenities. When I got it, the property had an outdated central heating, cooling, & air quality control that was not up to today’s new energy Efficiency standards. You had to essentially run the central heating & cooling equipment through the length of the day & all night to maintain any kind of indoor air quality levels. The energy costs were regularly costly & I knew that the Heating and Air Conditioning equipment was only a small part of the problem. The other drawback is the brutal lack of insulation in the house. I came to see a long time ago that the attic had decrepit insulation that did not contain any of the high-quality treated indoor air. The doors & windows were terribly drafty & needed extra insulation. On top of that, there was no buffer between the bitterly nippy basement & the first floor. By insulating all of these areas I effectively decreased the energy inefficiency complication & bought myself a little additional time to upgrade the central Heating and Air Conditioning equipment. At least I’m studying how to be a responsible homeowner these days.
