Seal up that dwelling – up-to-date insulation all around
I never knew anything about dwelling ownership before I found myself in possession of this property.
To be honest, I did not ask for any of this responsibility.
My old family dwelling was left to me when my Grandfather passed away. Nowadays, it is my job to make sure that everything is in tip-top shape around the dwelling whether I know what I’m doing or not. I’m basically always attempting to renovate the dwelling so it would be livable for one of my family members or sellable for a profit. Regrettably, the dwelling is totally lacking new amenities. When I acquired it, the dwelling had an outdated central heating, cooling, and air quality control appliance that was not up to today’s new energy Efficiency standards. You pretty much had to run in the central heating and cooling appliance all day and all night to maintain any kind of indoor air quality. The utility bills were always expensive and I knew that the Heating and A/C appliance was only part of the setback. The other issue is the horrible lack of insulation in the dwelling. I realized a long time ago that the attic had horrible insulation that did not contain any of the high-quality treated indoor air. The doors and windows were tremendously drafty and needed extra insulation. Furthermore, there was no buffer between the bitterly freezing basement and the first floor… By insulating all of these areas I was able to decrease the energy inefficiency drawback and bought myself a little extra time to update the central Heating and A/C appliance. At least I’m studying how to be a responsible homeowner these days.
