I am a seasoned ac technician. With over three decades of experience in employment, I have worked for some of the biggest ac companies in the country. One time, I lived away from my hometown for five years before quitting the job to look for something that would keep me closer to my family. The experience was like I never left, I found a place where I fit in right away with my colleagues. However, I am not the kind to sit back and be idle. In my spare time, I decided to pay someone to create for me an HVAC brand’s website. I had it optimized to attract keywords such as a/c service, ductwork, a/c professional, temperature control, ductless HVAC, and a/c tune up. I aimed to target any resident who needed such services at odd hours or when their emergency local contractor was unreachable. I knew this was a tiny market but I intended to start small before building it into a cooling and heating company. When the calls started coming in six weeks later, I realized I couldn’t focus on one area. The biggest risk was that my online business was hurting my day job, so in an attempt to keep both I negotiated for a half-day schedule on account of my health. This was granted and I managed to get my license as an independent new contractor. Now besides installing new air conditioning, I also take time to educate residents more about air conditioning and energy saving tips if they want their HVAC equipment to last long.
