Getting signs printed for park
I am on a committee that is working to restore and beautify our local park area.
This area includes an extensive wildlife habitat that provides a safe home to all different types of birds and waterfowl as well as interesting plant life.
There are hiking trails through the woods and valleys, over the hills and across streams. We have a small waterfall, marshlands and some of the oldest trees in the state. We’ve created an information center for people visiting the park and a rest area with picnic tables and lovely gardens. One of the important tasks to complete this project was to provide proper signage. We needed to make maps of the park available in different locations to help people find the different trails, outlooks and restroom facilities. We also wanted signs that would display the various types of birds, flora and fauna our visitors might come across. From warnings about safety issues and the rules of the park, we needed a lot of printed materials. We required extremely durable signs that are able to withstand all the weather extremes. In our local area, we are faced with snow and sub zero temperatures as well as high heat, intense sunshine, excessive humidity and rain. We not only hoped that the signs would last for many years but remain legible and in good condition. Fortunately, a print shop I found online was willing to work with me to customize a series of signs for the park. We created a color coding system to indicate the difficulty of the trails. The signs are bright and vivid enough to get noticed and yet subtle enough not to detract from the beauty of the park.
