Both of us discovered that the duct plan was leaking approximately 30% of the heated plus cooled air, since our weekly utility bills were horribly expensive, we invested in duct repair. Both of us also consulted with a local Heating, Ventilation & A/C supplier who recommended replacing both the air conditioning system plus furnace; She explained that high-efficiency units would pay for themselves in the savings on our utility costs. Even after this large investment, we weren’t overly impressed with the comfort level of our beach house or the reduction in our expenses. Both of us continued to look for ways to tighten up the house. Both of us bought plus installed up-to-date windows, exterior doors plus ceiling fans. Both of us caulked, weatherstripped plus insulated… All this time, the condition of the roof was steadily getting worse. After every storm with high winds, we’d find stray shingles in the turf plus gardens. Every time it rained really hard, we needed to locale buckets under the drips from the ceilings! Realizing that the issues with the roof were going to lead to structural mangle plus mold growth, I finally called in a roofing supplier. The project was just as terrible as we anticipated. The roofing crew trampled the gardens, left debris in the turf plus took over a month to finish the job. Both of us were without air conditioning system during the hottest afternoons of summer. There was a steady influx of dust plus bugs. However, once the up-to-date roof was in locale, we were amazed how hastily the air conditioning system lowered the indoor temperature. Our house is now far more comfortable plus stays cleaner, plus, our utility bills have been significantly reduced.
