It doesn’t need to be 72 in the home when it’s nearly a hundred degrees outside

I remember my dad saying, “it all adds up” when it came to saving a bit of money. Wow, was he ever right about that. Of course when I was young, that sort of thing went in a single ear and right out the other. I can still see my dad pushing the Heating as well as A/C setting higher while I was in the summer time by a few degrees. He’d constantly look at me and wink because he knew he was saving a little money. I thought it was ridiculous however now, I am talking out of the other side of my mouth on that subject. With what it costs to take care of my family, I am constantly in pursuit of cutting costs wherever feasible. Like my dad, while I was in the summer time I go right for the Heating as well as A/C. Just doing a few proactive things can lead to really significant savings over an entire summer. Where the people I was with and I live, the summer time would not be doable separate from Heating as well as A/C. However, left to their own devices, my family would run up the electric bill care about crazy. So, in the Spring, I do a few things. First, I get the Heating as well as A/C unit tuned up and ready to go for the summer. Then, I stalk the home in search for any gaps that could allow hot air in and cold air out. The weather stripping gets replaces every few years as the sun takes its toll on that material. I also make sure that the shades are pulled in the home to stop direct sun heating. But, care about dad, I keep the Heating as well as A/C setting at a sufficient setting. It doesn’t need to be 72 in the home when it’s nearly a hundred degrees outside. And, it all adds up by saving me a good chunk of change over the course of a summer.
