Wow, was she ever right about that.

Of course when I was young, that sort of thing went in a single ear and right out the other. I can still see my dad pushing the Heating, Ventilation as well as A/C setting higher during the summer time by a few degrees. He’d constantly look at myself and others and wink because she knew she was saving a little cash. I thought it was crazy however now, I am talking out of the other side of my mouth on that subject. With what it costs to take care of my family, I am constantly in pursuit of cutting costs wherever feasible. Like my dad, during the summer time I go right for the Heating, Ventilation as well as A/C. Just doing a few proactive things can lead to actually significant savings over an entire summer. Where all of us live, the summer time would not be doable without Heating, Ventilation as well as A/C. However, left to their own devices, my family would run up the electric bill like crazy. So, in the Springtime, I do a few things. First, I get the Heating, Ventilation as well as A/C equipment tuned up and ready to go for the summer. Then, I stalk the condo in search for any gaps that could allow tepid air in and frigid air out. The weather stripping gets upgrades every few years as the sunshine takes its toll on that material. I also make sure that the shades are pulled in the condo to stop direct sunshine heating. But, like dad, I keep the Heating, Ventilation as well as A/C setting at a satisfactory setting. It doesn’t need to be 72 in the condo when it’s nearly a hundred degrees outside. And, it all adds up by saving myself and others a wonderful chunk of change over the course of a summer.
