Last year, I was laid off, & for a while I had difficulty paying all of our bills.

I had to start going through our budget & only keeping things that were a necessity. When I reached our cooling system, it was so tough to not think of the cooling system as a necessity, although I knew it wasn’t. I definitely didn’t want to stop using our air conditioning, but I definitely didn’t have much choice; So, I turned off our air conditioning & started suffering through the heat. I had to use wet washcloths to keep our forehead cool, cool enough to allow myself and others to focus on everyday activities. I also would use our box fan & have it running for a few hours & I would open the windows to let in a cooling breeze. Even still with all of those combined, it was still no match for the wonder feeling of the air conditioning unit… Only after a few afternoons I was missing having our cooling machine, & I was so tempted to just turn it on & enjoy, but I knew I needed every penny at this moment. Thankfully after a couple of weeks, things were looking up for me. I had managed to find another task, & even if the pay wasn’t great, it was enough to get myself and others through! You believe what was the first thing for myself and others to turn back on? My air conditioning, I even did a little joyous jump at hearing the amazing click & feeling cooling air come out of the cooling system vents. It was so superb to have our air conditioning back, I missed it so much.
