Moisture can deeply ruin wood furniture
My current hobby is making wood furniture, and i have even begun selling it as well as it may turn into a area time task. I made my outdoor shed into a woodworking station. I have all my tools, wood as well as nearly finished pieces in there. I just appreciate the process of splitting, measuring as well as designing a piece. I recently did some hunting around online as well as found an article about humidity affecting wood, but too much humidity in the air quality causes wood to swell, and not enough moisture in the air will cause wood to crack, and my shed is outside with no Heating as well as Air Conditioning or humidity control at all. I am now concerned that my wood pieces may get disfigured in the upcoming warm then freezing season, and adding a Heating as well as Air Conditioning component will be quite high-priced. I could get a ductless mini split, but then we have to spend money for Heating as well as Air Conditioning upgrade as well as maintenance. I also will need to have an indoor air handler in an already small shed. I am wondering if I can get by simply with a dehumidifier as well as a humidifier. The shed is easily tiny, so controlling the moisture in the air quality can’t be that hard. There are dehumidifiers as well as humidifiers that are portable as well as can just kneel in a space. I can use the dehumidifier in the Summer to get rid of the sticky air. The humidifier can toil in the Winter when the air feels so dry as well as static filled. I don’t want to cut too many corners though. If I lose out on all my wood, that will be quite high-priced.
