Making my own book covers
Making my own book covers
I am a self-published author and I have my book available to be received through a kindle or be a hardcopy.
The digital books cost me absolutely nothing to send people for free to get reviews or to get my name out there.
I designed the cover myself all online. I just send the person a link and I am good to go. The hardcopy books are quite a bit of money. I have to have the book printed and use up all that paper. Also, making my cover was a lot of work too. I ended up going through one company to just do the inside of the book. They print all the words, chapter breaks and author information. I then receive the books without a cover. I do the printing for my own cover now. I actually bought a high tech digital printer. I can design my book cover the exact way I want it. I don’t need to worry about sizing being off, words in the wrong place, or faded colors. I do all that work myself. The cover is so important on a book. Anytime I rely on anyone else to do it, it usually ends up a disappointment. I have thought about trying my hand at doing the whole book. Right now my printer can only cut, laminate and color covers. I might need to invest in a better printing device to do the middle part of the book. That way I don’t have to go through anyone and can handle all sales myself.
