Building automation system includes security

When I decided to open a coffee shop, I devoted a great deal of time to finding the ideal building.

I wanted a sizeable parking lot, easy access and a bright, open space inside for customers to feel comfortable. Since my budget was somewhat limited, I chose a property in an up-and-coming neighborhood. During the daylight hours, the area was plenty safe and thriving. My coffee shop attracted a diversity of people. However, at that time, the nighttime hours were worrisome. There was still vandalism, robberies and other violent crimes happening in the neighborhood. I worried about the security of my building once I left for the day. During the renovation prior to opening, I experienced theft during the night. Someone broke in and stole various small appliances. I decided to invest into a monitored security system, complete with surveillance cameras, window sensors, door alarms and motion-activated lighting. When I began researching options for security systems, I came across building automation opportunities. It made more sense to invest into a system that would organize and optimize the operation of all essential appliances and system. The building automation system includes everything from lights and thermostat to sound system, ovens and coffeemakers. The system makes my days much easier and provides peace of mind. If anyone should force their way inside, an extremely loud alarm will immediately go off. If the proper code isn’t punched into the control panel within ten seconds, the local authorities will be dispatched to the property. I believe that the cameras and signs announcing the security system are enough to deter vandals and thieves.
